However, due to the actions that Ross took while they were on a break, Rachel did have some moral high ground and breaking up with him FOR making that decision is justifiable.

it was her coworker
not her fault and she didnt invite him over he invited himself over when he realized she was upset about something and came to cheer him up

she should be allowed to have male friends without needing her boyfriends permission

I dont know if Id say her fault, but yah that was a huge fuck up. A lot of their fights seemed to have to do with the dude, and then she let him come over with dinner and let Ross hear him while on the phone. I dont blame Ross one bit for what he did, it wasnt great, but I totally understand.

it just means you're just taking a break/rest/hiatus/time-out/etc. My girlfriend are on a break right now for about three months now, but gonna return to action soon.

I think the important thing here is that Ross is a pretty decent character on the show and Rachel is absolute trash, so Ross is literally always in the right when it comes to this character dynamic.

Ross is technically correct that they were on a break.

He's still a piece of shit for immediately fucking another woman, hours after they had a fight, and then going to extraordinary lengths to try and hide it from her.
