The chase scene with the fire truck was fucking epic. The rest of the movie I didn't care for, but I wouldn't call it bad. I also thought it was funny when that one dude told Arnold to "talk to the hand" so Arnold grabbed his hand and repeated himself directly into the dude's hand as though it was a microphone. I was like "lol he's a robot. He doesn't understand human expressions..."

Remember when they just walk into the military base and get into a major meeting room with a fucking general with no problems at all?

I think it generally comes down to 'it's an unneeded film' aka cash grab. I'll explain.

Take Toy Story 4 for example. TS3 ended the trilogy perfectly with a heart-felt ending that made you want to cry. Sure there were a couple of shorts on TV afterward, but did we need another film? I didn't mind TS4, but it was unnecessary.

Friday the 13th. The first movie establishes the lore. The sequel introduces Jason as the threat. The third builds it up, and the fourth was meant as the final. It's literally in the title. But they saw the popularity in the films, and another 8 have been made since.

Halloween concluded the Michael Myers chapter after two films, and from the third on was meant to be a spooky anthology series, but fans asked where Michael was. So they ditched the anthology idea and brought Michael back for a follow-up trilogy in 4-6 which messed up the continuity. and now we have multiple continuity splits with even more films after that.

It's not that Terminator 3 is bad, it's that many fans were satisfied with the conclusion of Terminator 2, and feel the story didn't need to continue. As said in the films, "Judgment Day is inevitable".

The action scenes are gibberish. None of the actors have chemestry. The villain is silly and not menacing. Its violence feels neutered. The whole thing is a repetition of a repetition, but whereas T2's repetition was well accepted because it does stunning sequences and action set pieces that the first one couldn't hope for, T3 is in every sense a downgrade from the 2nd film so the repetition is grating more than anything. John Connor is just a fundamentally less interesting protagonist than Sarah Connor.

It undid the first 2 films, and set us on the path of pointlessly trying to turn a film duology with a closed and logical ending into a franchise that consistently misses the mark with each new film.

T3 had the worst version of John Conner by far. But the movie itself was ok. Its a step down from T1 and 2.

Movie was good, ending was the best part.

Did it need to be made after T2's ending? No. But it's entertaining.

Doctor Peter Silberman says, "I saw crazy things. Impossible things."

I dislike it for the same reason I dislike Alien 3, it invalidated a great ending to the previous film.

I felt that Toy Story 4 ended the series in a better way than 3 ever did. I never understood peoples emotional response to 3.

Overall, 3 is the better film though.

Fun movie, I liked it. It's no T2 but still.

I loved the ending lol.

It was alright. The cast was pretty weak, apart from Arnold, and the writing wasn't really there, either. The effects were cool, the action was decent, but it just didn't have the vibe, the creativity, or the freshness to make it any better than "eh, it's worth watching if you're bored."

That pile of shit dark fate is by far the worst movie in the franchise, atleast the 3rd movie does not contradict the entire lore.

When it was released it just didn't hold a candle to the first 2 movies. But I enjoyed it personally despite being a huge fan.

I think time has been kind to it though as Salvation was poor and Genesis was the same. Dark Fate was a good movie but how it started really rubbed people the wrong way. T3 is probably the best of the sequels to the first 2.

I'll go as far as to say that Dark Fate is the least bad T2 sequel, and I honestly find it acceptably solely because of Mackenzie what's her face's performance.

But it's definitely a bad movie.

No idea who that is, but Carl makes it better than everything after T2

She plays the cyborg, or whatever woman sent back in time to protect femconnor.

"Carl" was fun, but in a kind of sad and pathetic way with the blatant nostalgia thread pulling. You could see your strings being pulled, but most of the time I was okay with it.

Unlike Linda Hamilton who was just sad to watch.

I enjoyed it. I really liked the ending. It doesn't NEED to exist sure, but it's not bad.

The ending of T3 is fine.

It's everything else that's wrong.

Most of the film isn't great, but the final sequence is the best moment of the franchise IMO.

1) No James Cameron. I don't know film making well enough to understand why he is so much better than the typical director, but dude has Midas Touch. Either Avatar 1 or True Lies are his worst movie since T1, and True Lies is awesome and Avatar made a bajillion dollars.

2) Sarah Connor. Linda Hamilton, to me, was always the star of T1 and T2. Arnie may have been on the cover, but Sarah is who moved the story. They just kill her off. I get if she didn't want to be in the movie, but put her in prison again. Have a story where she was able to get John free because of her sacrifice. That we she can be brought back without fucking with timelines.

3) Timelines. The more moves in the series, the more they fuck with timelines. The decisions, such as killing Sarah, just screws with more stuff in the future installments. T1, seems like we have 2 timelines. Original timeline where JC is the hope of humanity and no terminator tried to kill his mom/him as a kid, new / current timeline where a terminator was sent back to kill SC. T2 can easily be a continuation of T1, and still have just 2 timelines. T3 if it ended there could maybe be fine, but then we get sarah connor chronicles, savlation, all that shit, and it really starts confusing things. How many timelines are they up to now in the franchise?

4) John Connor. This is a tough for to explain what I really feel on this. JC in T2 was annoying, whiny, hated his voice, seemed rather unrealistic... but I somehow bought it? Like your mom tells you that you are future Jesus and robots will kill everyone and she goes to the mental hospital and you are bouncing around families... I get how a kid like that could exist. Then comes T3. At this point JC KNOWS his mom was right. He is future Jesus, he is the savior of man kind, robots will continue to try to kill him. And we get Nick Stahl. If there was no T2 events, I could get his character. I could get him being the reluctant hero at points. But you know that SC was drilling him like a fucking commando the entire time she was alive. I've seen people with impossible expectations put on them. Either they completely break or they keep trying and struggling to live up to those expectations. T3 JC feels like a character with a bad upbringing but nothing really special. At a minimum JC in T3 you should have started to see hints of who he would become.

5) Arnie. He is still looking pretty great in this movie, but hes in his mid 50s. The machine is starting to look a bit softer, acting less machine like, even though it is a different terminator than the one that JC knew. Arnold's T2 and T3 feel too related. It didn't feel like enough was done to make them really separate characters, like T1 and T2 did.
