Yea I dont follow behind trucks like that cause of the movie, if I cant speed up to pass the truck than Im putting a mile between me and him.

Funny enough FD2 is the last one Ive ever watched.those movies are too much for me.

I'm trying to understand the scenario from the article. It sounds like a log didn't roll off the truck, but got loose and slid partway out of the pile so it extended beyond the truck's end. I'm not understanding how this would be deadly to a bike rider unless it actually did slide out fast and hit them directly in the head. Either way, that's awful.

40 mph is how. They got hit by a heavy object going 40 mph.

I do. Theres a road I used to travel alot between 2 small towns. Theres a logging company just before you get into the other town. The speed limit is posted at 55. They would pull out right before me say 100 ft so at 55mph I was right on their ass. Some of those logs are just low and long enough to go through my windshield. So when I got close I'd slow down to 40mph so they had time to pull out and get far enough ahead. I was driving a Chevy Silverado 3500 flatbed so not real fast on the brakes. Lord help me on the way back with 3t of feed on the back

True but it can happen with anything really. A joke a friend made once

"You are 3 seconds from a horrendous accident happening to you."

As a farmer it's true. Get off the tractor make sure it's in neutral and the pto lever is off. Before standing on top of a bushog make sure the blades are atopped. When working with a seed/fertilizer spreader dont put your hands near the "blades". Any time a cow can run you over. I have broken ankles and broken ribs to show for that. Anything can happen at anytime and thats just a example of 1 place

"Design Studio Director" is not an executive. For a company the size of Nike, there may be dozens of them.

"VP of Product and Merchandising" at Nike Swim, though. That guy probably regularly visited the factories in China. But he still didn't deserve to die.

Instead of simply saying Oh, maybe say that dying in a horrible accident like this is sad.

I have sympathy for their families and loved ones, and I think its a horrible way to die, but just because its not illegal to be an executive of a multibillion dollar company that exploits child labor it doesnt mean Im not going to judge them for it or absolve them of that because theyre dead.
