Basically you select an election year and can pick which candidate you run as. You pick which states to visit and try to answer questions from the media/voters. A neat little thing with it too is you can choose a different running mate than the candidate picked IRL.

I'm currently kicking George Bush Sr's ass in 1988 via the Dukakis/Gore ticket.

There's a modloader in the lower right of the page. Someone made a 92 Perot mod. Playing it rn
