As someone who has eaten Blue Bell it is pretty easily Blue Bell. No one potentially eating dangerous bacteria for Ben and Jerry's.

when i was working at a grocery store for a few years blue bell had two salmonella outbreaks in a row. have never touched it entirely because i dont wanna be around for the third

It was listeria. The company covered it up. People died.

And yet despite it previously killing people I have some in my freezer

Ben & Jerry's is top tier, but the price makes it a very infrequent special occasion for me. Ice cream is actually one of the products where I'll vouch for a store brand, as the Smith's Private Selection is damn good for half the price or less.

Blue Bell is from Texas. It was pulled from NC and other places after the listeria outbreak a few years ago. It made it back to NC in like 2021

Blue Bell is very slow on expansion. For your basic flavors, the quality of ice cream cannot be beat. B&J's has wild mash-ups and mix-ins that are great and can't be easily duplicated.

Never had blue bell but I'm voting it over BJs. BJs just dumps a ton of candy in to distract you from the poor quality Unilever muck. Hagen Daaz is a bit better but owned by Nestle so lol.
