If the first season wasn't broken apart to make people feel like, "He-Man isn't even there!" I think the series as a whole would be quite beloved.

For those who felt S1P1 was too slow paced and kinda meandering, my goodness S1P2 and S2 have been just fast paced fun. S2 in particular felt almost like... you know the feeling when you played with action figures as a kid? It kinda evoked that feeling, at least for me.

No child called it Masters of the Universe. We all called it He-Man.

Probably should add Revelations. Only cause the live action movie from the 80s (which is on Tubi) was also titled just Masters of the Universe.

I have heard generally pretty positive things out of this latest season. I can't really form much of an opinion as I haven't watched much. Which is strange since I'm such a big Kevin Smith fan, even though this is much different than his film directing career. I'm glad people are liking it though. I always like it when nostalgic stuff from the 80's when I was young does well current day.

I've been enjoying it thoroughly. Looking forward to more.

Again, the first season was released in two halves. Take it as a whole and the whole, "LACK OF HE-MAN" is not at all there. He's missing for like... 3 episodes of the entire season?

As someone who loved Revalations, the first half of Revolution was even better. Like they listened to and tried to fix all the minor complaints and had.

I just bought the og on DVD -_-

There was the acclaimed Gotham Central that has almost fuck-all to do with Bats, and I don't think anyone was pissed at that.

I'm pretty sure post Batman about Gotham exist. There is nothing wrong with exploring different ideas. Personally I loved the idea of it starting with the final battle and exploring the aftermath.

And he didn't even stay dead.

I get that it wasn't what people wanted, but it was still great.

The initial press release for this show included a synopsis that perfectly explained what the show was going to be. And that was years before it aired. I knew it was going to be about after the final battle between He-man and Skellator since 2019. About Teela searching for the swords of power and that was interesting to me. Most people don't pay as much attention as I do. It was what they said it would be.

This is why killing the wrong character is a critical mistake.

If you kill off the heart of the series, fans lose interest because their favorite character is gone. If you bring someone back from the dead, fans get mad because life and death struggles have no stakes to them. You just simply don't kill the wrong character.

I feel like a lot of the hate the series got could have been resolved if Kevin Smith was better at handling all the complaints when the first half released without the second half. I get not wanting to spoil a plot twist, but he pretty much did absolutely nothing to address concerns from people who were pissed off that they wanted to watch a new He-Man show and he wasn't in it.

So from that perspective I definitely agree that if the entire show had been released at once the whole controversy could have been avoided as well.

Yeah I've been hearing nothing but good things about the new season of He-Man. I might give it a watch someday, but man th first half of season 1 was analog to get through.
