Me. I went and got Granblue Fantasy Relink and Persona 3 Reload as my recent purchases. I don't buy into that digital is better nonsense. For example, my Steam account is collecting dust.

Maybe those JRPGs villains were on to something about humanity being trash.

I wish it did. the 90s didn't have them trying to push a bunch of bullshit on you if you so much as looked at the store.

GameStop is also way too dark and gloomy to be a 90s store. That is a 2000s store. They took away the real 90s stores like Funco Land

I disagree. Spencer's and Hot Topic are basically "90s: The Store" and they're dark & gloomy as hell.

No, I'm pretty sure GameStops are bad everywhere.

I'm amazed by this too.

I guess there's an actual market for nerd bling for some reason. Because surely nobody buys actual games there anymore. Not since everything they actually still sell is available digitally.

I don't get why they ever abandoned the classics. SMH.

Neon was only half the story. You're forgetting there was a whole Grunge subculture.

I had actually forgotten all about the '90s over the top 'tude myself until I happened to watch Alien Resurrection for the first time just last year and it all came flooding back like a nightmare I spent all morning trying to to forget.

EB Games (Electronics Boutique) used to have the darklight atmosphere in the 90s as well.

You want to talk about dark and gloomy stores, you look no further than Hollister. Mostly because it's so dark in there you can't look any further.

It's not a '90s store, but it's close enough.

Gamestop took our EBs, Funcolands, Babbages to merge into a full wallstreet corporation. Dont know why, but Babbages was my favorite. Maybe cause it was always the biggest store where I lived.

You'd be surprised how many people are still "Physical Only" gamers when it comes to their library.

Combine that with not having the patience to wait for a game to arrive in the mail, and you have your reason why GameStop is still a thing.

Oh, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Why would you buy a game that's already open and has an unremovable price sticker on it when you can buy the same game factory sealed for the same price at any decent retailer?

Do they still discount $5 for used? Was that ever a legit equilibrium price?

No matter how you slice it, the only reason to ever buy from GameStop was because Walmart didn't have SNES games on shelves anymore.

It must just be that the word "Game" is in the branding. Only reason I can come up with.
