What is your response when they tell you?

Nope. My mom loved games. She was better at Super Bomberman 2, Kirbys Avalanche and Terri's Attack than I was.

No, and my father even liked at least two NES games like Blaster Master and Fester's Quest. My mother didn't say anything negative about my playing games, even though she had no interest in them, and even gifted me a few different SNES and Dreamcast games while I was in my 20's.

Nope. I was fortunate enough to have a dad that played just as many games as me, my brother and my sister. Like if I was playing co-op in streets of rage 2, 70 percent of the time it was with my brother, the other 25 being my dad and the other 5 being my sister if she was around.

My mother wasn't a gamer like that, but she didn't care if the rest of the house was gaming since that meant more chill time for her.

Grandparents yes, parents no. My folks and my aunt and uncle all played games growing up so they get it.

This generation of parents are more into video games. Than us 90s kids parents.

I moved out at 18 so they didnt really get a chance. They never gave me grief as a teen. On the other hand I was out of the house a lot then, too. Still, I know I had hours and hours of gametime every month like I do now.

I watched the danny brown podcast where steve o said video games are for losers and it made me feel bad about all of the hours I put into games

My father did sometimes, about videogames and comics. But now I'm an adult and married. We both think that work and bills are responsibilities that have to be addressed. But when it comes to entertainment, you do what entertains you.

my dad was the one who gotten me into gaming when i was about 7 years old (2nd grade). all started after going to a GI Joes store and buying a original nintendo with super mario bros 3.

through those years i was able to enjoy most nintendo consoles up to the gamecube. that time i was able to buy my own system.

In retirement, my dad mostly plays videogames all day. Dude has been playing Age of Empires games most days for as long as I can remember

My dad took me to the arcades in 1980 and started me on video games. He played Atari with me and would take me to the store to look at NES games after I bought my Nintendo.

No, though Ironically my dad has more interest in NES and up while I actually enjoy a handful of Atari 2600 and Intellivision games (via DS compilation and cellphone) as well.

Actively avoided my parents as young as I was able, so my dealings with them when I was no longer a kid were very limited. They had no idea that I was playing games at that point.

That said, the Swordquest winner who got the Chalice mentioned his parents thought video games were a waste of time.

No, they've never said anything like that or been condescending. Games were always my biggest interest as a kid, so they don't seem to think anything about it now since that was always me.
