They sogged down the dough before cooking then dried out the area around them after it was cooked. Something about them also curdled and separated the cheese a bit making for a gnarly gross texture.

both the texture and flavor are ass
like i can mostly ignore any other topping i dont like, especially if it's heavily topped

and i dont dislike mushroom in general, i just find it to be an absolutely detrimental topping to pizza

maybe theres some combination of sauce/toppings where it works, but it is just fuckin garbage on a traditional mozz/tomato pizza

But the real surprise is jalapeos, I don't like them at all and yet they have less votes than totally top tier toppings to top the pizza with like mushrooms and olives (which I mostly only like in the context of Pizza)

Nah, tomato sauce doesn't taste anything like tomatoes.

I used to work at a pizza place that offered a seafood pizza with crab and seaweed on it. During my entire tenure there, I thankfully only had to make this pizza once, but it was pretty disgusting to put together.

So I'll vote seaweed.

cooked tomato is night and day to raw
cooking it breaks down a lot of that acidic/tart flavor and brings out the sweetness
raw tomato i find overpowering, to the point that i can literally taste something it's touched even if no tomato is present

mushrooms belong in the trash

It's a thing is SE Asia.

Why it is I cannot even begin to fathom. It is something I would only ever expect someone who has lost all sense of taste to enjoy, and at the same time pizza isn't something I attribute to that demographic at all. All I can really say is that anyone that has had bitter melon will agree that no other non-meat on pizza is worse if it isn't something like the gympie gympie.

Pineapple being the most voted is just a meme at this point. I'm curious if everyone who said it has ever even tried it. I had it once and it's honestly pretty innocuous. Something like olives are a lot more potent, and mushrooms have a worse texture.

I think I'd actually be cool with mushrooms if I could get something with a bit more substance like lions mane or chicken of the woods. The nasty ass button mushrooms that come out of a can and go onto pizzas gets a hell fucking no from me though

Mushrooms and it still irks me that the person who posted an image of a pizza with nothing but mushrooms on it wasn't banned on the spot.

To be honest - there arent many pizza topics I can stomach.

Onions, Bell Peppers, and Jalapeos are really the only ones Ill order. But if I had

Guys jalapeos are just not appropriate on a pizza or even a burger for thst matter.

jalapenos are highly dependent on whether they are pickled or not and whether there are other ingredients to balance them or not imo

i don't care for olives or mushrooms, the rest are usually generally pretty good or situationally acceptable
