Office jobs and "low stress" are usually far apart from one another.

Bruh I delivered to office building for years and the people inside were almost always happy, calm and friendly. Zero signs of stress.

increase in pay usually accompanies an increase in skills required or stress incurred. if there really were "high pay, low stress" jobs out there, everyone would want them. the best compromise i've found is being a software engineer at a non-profit. i make well over six figures, but almost never work more than 40h/week

I used to be a delivery driver too. My interactions with those receiving the goods had no correlation with their overall working experience.

Fun fact - all those software and game designers who are infamously overworked, exploited and stressed are "office workers."

Yeah, you're right, I guess it depends on the office worker. Some have an easy laid back job and some are chronically overworked and stressed out.

I have an office job that is very stressful. I guess it depends on the company/field you're working for and your position.

Depends on what kind of office job. Some are still high paced. Like I did office work at the CHP at the records desk. Between the phones ringing constantly (the phone had 8 public lines) and people coming in to pick up copies of their accident reports or arrest reports, I was busy non-stop.

Not as stressful as working retail, but still not what you'd call stress free.

But if you can get your foot in the door, I'd say doing water treatment or wastewater treatment can be pretty low stress. Getting in is hard because you need to pass a certification exam that's very math heavy. But the entry level position doesn't have a lot of responsibility, so it's not a hectic job.

IT type jobs like help desk, sys admin, network admin.

the stress level depends on where you get hired, like doing helpdesk for a local school district will suck, but doing it at a law office or something is usually really easy.

heads up, tier 1 or entry level is grossly underpaid. if the min requirement is an A+ cert, then expect not to make much more than $15-20/hr. Once you hit sys admin level you can easily make $75k or more a year.
