While wendigo are visibly identifiable, or rather the corpses the wendigo possess are, thanks to them looking like people who died to a combination of stavation and freezing to death and being huge if they've existed for l9ng enough. The fact they only inhabit areas where the ice never melts and only venture south with severe blizzards, you are most likely never going to see one.
