In my case, it's literally always slow EXCLUSIVELY because of a customer who inexplicably stands at the register for longer than you can run through every possible thing they could be doing that would take a long time.

What what do you mean exactly? You do work in fast food though, seems like no one wants to work at those places

Well, the post office is a good example. I have literally no idea what people do at the post office. With me it's always

"Can you ship this?"
"Yes."
"Cool."
"Pay here."
"Done."
"Thanks."
"Thanks."

HOW IN THE WORLD people manage to stand at the counter for literally seven or eight minutes is an absolute mystery. I can run through my head a number of scenarios:

"Can you ship this?"
"No."
"Crap. Well bye then."
"Bye."

"Can you ship this?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because you need one of the boxes over there."
"Oh. Here."
"Pay here."
"Done."
"Thanks."
"Thanks."

"Hi, have you played FF7 Rebirth?"
"Sir this is a post office."
"It's really bad."
"Sir, this is a post office."
"It's really REALLY bad."
"Do you have business here?"
"It's so bad that everyone in China threw up at once."
"I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
"It's so bad that I didn't even like it."
"Hi, I'm the manager, please come over here with me so I can call the police and have you removed."
"It's so bad that I gave it to my dog and he wouldn't even chew it up."

wow you typed all that al that way of text? i work in retail i know all about entitled customers...etc...

Why are zoomers unable to differentiate between ages? Why are zoomers so impatient and entitled? Why are zoomers only capable of making broad brush judgements?

Boomer is more a mentality than a generational definition at this point.

Only by people who can't differentiate, but screech about individualism. That's called hypocritical behavior. There are bratty people and patient people in every generation. Sometimes someone is just having a rotten day.

That high, 90? A lot of younger ones are too, kinda young

Boomers are a lot more likely than yourself to have lost an immediate family member or be on the way out from untreatable illness.

Most boomers I interact. More likely to complain that theres only one cashier whereas gen x and millennials usually just complain about that person taking too long.

A combination of long term lead exposure as well as a life full of entitlement

Probably age. Actual boomers are probably retired, so they dont have unrealistic expectations for individual work output. On the other hand, millennials and gen x are working in a world that grinds for efficiency and optimization, sometimes beyond what an individual person can actually accomplish.

For me it was usually people born in the 1940s, Silent or Boomers.

Customers just be like that sometimes lol. They just dont freaking know how to handle when the answer theyre given isnt the one they want even if theres nothing else I can do to help.

Ill get calls from customers that should last like a minute that go on for 7+ minutes. Drives me insane. Repeating the issue a hundred times isnt going to magically change my answer (which is the only way I can help). Its like they want me to be like well since you repeated yourself five times, guess what! I actually CAN transfer you to that dept. instead of only being able to give them a message to have them call you back

Was in fast food ages ago. That place wasn't typically too bad. Bojangles is more known for older people eating there in the mornings. And they where all regulars so super nice and polite. Like it was the same crowd every morning. Some would even come back for lunch. But we did have a community College literally across the street so some younger people would trickle in here and there.

He never bothered me again after that he still would come in sometimes. My gut told me to just ignore him and my gut is usually right

did you really hate working in fast food, would never do it again? don't blame you seems very few people want to work in one. Almost all like teenagers.

I did not mind working fast food. It's the pay that sucked.

But generally I'm happy with any job I feel I'm good at and I was good at it.

I was paid minimum wage. We had managers wanting to go to McDonald's as entry level workers cause it woulda paid more.

Not only did bk pay less we kept less staff

Job I mentioned was bojangles though also minimum wage but we stayed better staffed
