Texas is defying the federal constitution and Biden should just march federal troops in there when they start jailing US citizens and people with visas.

Not that Biden should wait but once Texas starts deporting American citizens the situation is more obvious.

At some point, people just need to get over Cuba.

The embargo and hatred for the island nation is anachronistic. There are much worse offenders of human rights that we have normalized relationships with.

The reason there is so much focused hate on Cuba is twofold:

1) Because it's so close to our American shores

2) Because despite having problems and being far from perfect... it's a successful communist experiment that has managed to survive despite being isolated and embargoed like they were North Korea.

I'm not a big Cuba cheerleader or anything, but right now - for any example of violence or human rights abuses perpetrated by Cuba against it's people, the United States has historically done far worse not just to it's own people, but oh say... South and Central American nations also. We have to hold everyone to the same standards if we're going to use specific events to disqualify a country's right to exist.

Scenario. Someone steals your wallet and you report it to the police. They come and take you into custody because you have no ID.

How exactly do you tell if someone is here "legally" or not? Do you just go up to every person with brown skin and ask them to show their ID and it's just how it has to be and they should be understanding about being asked about it? If they accidentally left the house without ID, that's their fault and they should know better? The fact that you think this bullshit is okay just shows you're someone who knows they won't be targeted by police or any other kind of would be vigilante in that shithole state.

State, city or county agents, should not have any authority to deal with federal matters. Immigration from other nations is a federal matter

I hope someone does a compare/contrast of this bill versus the Arizona bill from a few years ago that the Supreme Court decided WAS unconstitutional.

I believe SCOTUS is still going to hear the case, this ruling was whether or not the law can stay in place until they hear it and make a final ruling.

How do you know who's here illegally or not? 18.5% of Americans are Hispanic. Do you think it'd be okay to just stop and frisk 18.5% of Americans because they may be illegal?

So Mexico is stating they won't accept the people Texas is taking into custody, since they deal with the federal government, not the state.

Also, many of those being taken into custody are not from Mexico.
