there's a lot to be said for being a recognized brand, on both ends of the fence.

like if Biden weren't president/VP, he wouldn't be crushing the numbers like he is. If Trump didn't have decades of press - good, bad, or indifferent - he also probably wouldn't.

goes to show how modern society is basically a large and expensive version of jingly keys for children

So hillary lost because of racism? I guess biden won because he could go toe-to-toe with trump on racism?

Nah he won because after demolishing Bernie by running a better campaign he then went on to run another better campaign to win the presidency.

Glad we cleared that up for you.

You asked why the election was so close. There are a lot of racists and stupid people in America. Theres also the fact Hillary was a woman and the wife of Bill Clinton. And then Comey dropping a bomb on her at the last second. I dont like her, but to pretend she had nothing against her before even getting into the politics of it is crazy.

And no, obviously Biden didnt win because hes racist.

So if hillary had so many things going against her, why were democrats so insistent on making her the nominee?

I see. What a shame that the democratic party and their big media buddies pushed hillary so hard so that she could be handed the trophy at the democratic party popularity contest. I guess democrats were more interested in having hillary represent the party than to win the actual election. Sucks that we all have to suffer for this.

The primary determines which candidate the party likes the most. It's unrelated to the actual election other than filtering the candidates based on party preferences.

For 2024, I would guess that if a different dem had won 2020, they would have the same chances Biden has assuming their presidency mirrored Bidens. Obviously a bad or excellent time during their first term would lower or raise their chances respectively. However, a newcomer? (Unfortunately,) No chance.

God you're hopelessly failing to grasp the simplest of points. Hopefully this is simple enough for you to understand:

An election process dominated by elite interests and structured to favor candidates that cater to those interests is not an even battleground. It would be like saying "you're just mad at the FACT that putin got the most votes!" It's not as simple as that when votes are influenced by the system. In our case, it's the gigantic media and party machines which drive votes in particular directions.

It's not a matter of "here's how Bernie can still win" because Bernie was never going to win in such a system. A progressive candidate cannot win in such a system because their policies do not favor the rich and so the party and their friends in the media will blast propaganda and otherwise tilt chances in favor of other candidates. It's a carnival game that you're so gleefully defending.

I never said they did. People have been hypocritically saying that Hillary beating Bernie in a primary means he would definitely lose to Trump. If it doesn't guarantee a win against a piece of shit like Trump then it doesn't guarantee a win or lose for anyone.

I mentioned how Trump won a primary twice. I guess it's actually 3 times if we count 2020 when he went on to lose the general.

The primaries are not determinative of anything.
