I'm not saying I want one, but it seems like one of those inevitable things. So what would they change or make the same?

For one thing, so many of the themes would have to be entirely revamped. Buffy was a pretty "woke" show for its day right? It tackled social issues and inequalities in a way that seems admittedly seems naive today. So a remake would have to do the same through the lens of a zoomer.

Buffy was 14 when Angel fell in love with her, he was 24 when he turned and 241 as a vampire. So that entire relationship is out of the question right there.

Wesley was a 33 year old teacher trying to hit on an 18 year old high school student, that would have to go.

The entire cast was cis and white. So would they redesign existing characters or introduce new ones?

Buffy was all about girl power, but her entire world revolved around falling in love with and apologising for these terrible men.

The crappy karate...would that stay? I mean that's integral to the entire show, but it's so stupid.

You know what, the more I think about it the less I like it. Maybe Sabrina the Teenage Witch answers that question.

I could see something about what it means to be a "Slayer" and how it relates to gender identity.

and even though it's not Buffy, but the Highlander TV series had stuff related to race, when one of the immortals was born during slavery, iirc - so maybe how prejudice might affect some of the world views of immortal monsters, on both sides (those who helped it continue and those who were the victims of it).

This topic has me wondering whatever happened to that supposed reboot which was rumoured a few years back.
Think Whedon's antics becoming public knowledge killed it.

Yeah, sign me up for that. They did another future Slayer comic a while back with Old Woman Buffy teaching Willow's daughter which just made me want more Fray instead of that.

I loved the show back in the day, the horrible fighting was probably the main reason I couldnt get through the second season on a rewatch a few years ago.

I guessing they would go WOKE, and make a power female character at the center of everything.
