2024 election poll: Key voters are shifting in the Biden-Trump race

https://www.npr.org/2024/04/07/1243264831/key-voting-groups-are-shifting-in-the-race-between-biden-and-trump

People on here really act like Bidens failures and silences arent hurting his numbers because hes not Trump.
Hillary Clinton took it easy in 2016, and we saw how that turned out. Biden has gained support in some groups. However, Trump has a loyal fanbase. People who may not vote at all because of their disappointment with Biden even if they despise Trump more may be why we get the hellscape of project 2024.

That being said, anyone got tips for moving to New Zealand?

Is moving out of the country going to receive the same hate as not voting Democrat gets?

Asking for a friend, as well.

It's wild to me how people might refuse to vote for Biden because of a few specific issues... even knowing that the alternative is way worse.

Vote for Biden, guys. He's the best choice for the best outcomes.

Still too early for these polls to be relevant, but he hasn't really been doing any favors for himself recently.

Most voters come home to their candidate come election time, so if the numbers aren't better by like a month out, then he should probably get worried.

I'm not saying he should hold off on doing anything. These polls are at the very least indicative of frustration, so he should be working to show how hard he'll fight to materially improve those people's conditions as soon as he can. What I'm saying is that the polls themselves don't really show that people will actually vote that way because the closer they get to election, they tend to change their minds and come home. I do agree that candidates shouldn't just wait for that to happen, though.

No, you must be thinking of someone else. Ive voted in every presidential election since Ive been able to vote. Im not even overtly against Biden because I honestly wouldnt expect better from any democrat whod have gotten president considering the party and the GOP when it comes to getting anything done. I do think the entire Democratic Party isnt mobilized or organized enough because red states are stripping away freedoms, liberties, and human decencies and few blue states are encoding any protections.
And even as much as I am disappointed by the the current Democratic Party, the GOP has swung too dangerously right with anti-human stances becoming the main talking point.

I am a fatalist who worries about the future. Im upset by ineffective policies and federal silence; however, I know that the alternative to Biden is far more bleak. The hellscape of Trumps first presidency would be a sequel that damns anyone who isnt one of Trumps cronies or kingmakers who are carving a way towards fascism.
But, I know other people are holding some values too dearly. I think those people are willing to sacrifice others over ideals that no current electable politician would achieve or implement.

Im just not stupid enough to stick around in the aftermath if I can avoid it,

You have the right to not vote Biden in 2024.

Just don't complain if you suddenly find yourself lacking the right to vote in 2028, 2032, 2036, etc if you let a man who promised they'd become a dictator win.

If the margin narrows and Trump wins, you should rightfully wear a surprised Pikachu face. Dont forget, numerous red states have implemented laws to make it harder for targeted populations of people whod be more likely to vote democrat to go out and vote.

The polling thing is baffling. I understand a bunch of polls are assembly line slop but plenty of firms have had pretty solid records over the last few cycles and we've had polling accurate as recently as the 2023 state races. Even in 2022 a big part of why polls were wrong on the whole was because aggregates used junk like Trafalgar. Good polls still existed.

What's even the bit lol, why literally deny reality on this? Biden is slightly favored but pretending he's the solid favorite is just utterly delusional right now. At least in 2016 Clinton did at least poll consistently well and they had come off of the '12 cycle being such a blowout, what's even the excuse here after Dems limped across the finish line in 2020

I understand think Biden needed to do better, but I dont think any candidate from either side wouldve gotten out of supporting Israel based on the USAs history. Even those who dont support Israels actions wouldve likely been overridden by congress.

Yeah this. The most reliable polls would be through voluntary clients and even then that's only people that are both political and okay with being messaged by services like that.

No but it just makes me wonder if they only poll certain demographics. I've had land line phones before too actually still have one just never let the phone charge cause nobody calls it but bs scammers. Some bs where we had to have phone or cable to go along with the internet and I don't watch tv

The poll could have been pushed to broader in clarification. I do have to ask why white men had both college-executed and those without college education while white women only had college education. Additionally, while the article mentions shifts in black and Latin American voters, the poll lumps them both under non-white and didnt break down voters of color by gender or level of education.
