Ehh, I'll push back a bit, here. Maybe I missed some of the earlier Joey Swoll videos, but a lot of the ones I've seen, it was women legitimately trying to make something out of nothing in order to get "clout," since... Instead of actually addressing the issue with the man or with gym personnel, they'd just post the video, going "Look at this guy staring at me!" in a video where it was, conveniently, a wide angle video, where the woman in question was blatantly not actually working out, and instead "stretching" in ways to be looked at, and then they'd more or less try to dox some guy that didn't even look at them. And, yes, Joey Swoll would call them out... But they deserved to be called out, because they were purposely aiming to get internet clout out of attacking somebody innocent.

Now, if earlier videos legitimately were attacking women who legitimately felt they were being perved on, then yes, that's wrong. I just haven't personally seen those videos. I'm mainly just speaking from seeing certain "influencers" who legitimately attempted to get famous from intentionally setting up scenarios where they were "perved on," and when they often didn't work as intended, they just attacked people who didn't even actually look at them.

Well, false accusations ARE wrong. Wrong is wrong. When dealing with anything that is potentially a criminal matter you always go where the evidence leads. Like, it's fine to have conversations about women facing trauma and how that might make them feel, but still wrong to make false accusations.

And, to be clear, I'm not doubting some women do, legitimately, feel like somebody may be staring at them when they aren't, and mistake something due to past trauma.

I'm strictly speaking about the ones that post some random wide angle shot on Tiktok with the generic voiceover of "omg look at this guy looking at me!" and the guy like vaguely looks in her direction for half a second when talking to somebody in said direction, and it's mostly those videos that I see Joey attack.

I think there's a bit of a disconnect, here, since in today's day and age, if somebody purposely posts a video on like, TikTok, it legitimately does feel like they're seeking attention, which comes off as malicious, and I think that's what Joey attacks. It feels like if somebody legitimately felt like they were being perved on, their first instinct wouldn't be to... Make a TikTok video out of it?

Obviously, this doesn't apply across the board, but I do get the feeling of... If somebody's first reaction was to make a TikTok video out of something that feels like an incredibly suspect accusation, to begin with... Yeah, it does feel kinda malicious.

Well, yeah. I agree there's not enough evidence in either direction.

I'm just saying a lot of the ones I remember him calling out would be ones who basically had Tiktok accounts full of videos that were "omg look at this guy looking at me at the gym!" and the guy like, doesn't actually even look at her. In cases like that, it's a bit tougher to believe they legitimately feel they were being stared at, when their Tiktok account has like, 30 videos of such "encounters."

I mean the same thing happens the other way around, I'm sure there's some women out there that wouldn't mind getting their asses slapped in the gym especially if the guy who did was hot and rich... but that doesn't mean a damn thing. Those instances are incredibly rare and doesn't justify slapping someone who really doesn't want to be a part of sexual assault. Please stop the nonsense man. Be better

Bad apples spoil the bunch. People get suspicious of these videos because every once in awhile you hear about somebody intentionally causing problems. A year ago or so there was an influencer who tried to call out a guy for staring at her, and she only posted half the video. Well the guy in question ended up posting the whole video soon after, and it was a security video, because he was an actual employee at the gym, and he had only looked her way because she had made a loud fuss before she started recording. He revealed she had been kicked out of the gym for being confrontational and causing problems. That one actually made the news, and since the false accusations often do make the news, it poisons the well.

Fair enough. I don't watch Joey Swoll often, his stuff sometimes comes up in my Shorts list, so maybe I only see the more egregious ones. Dudebusters probably has it right about poisoning the well, in this case.

EDIT: And, to be fair, half the time the Shorts of his that come up are calling out guys, too, so maybe I've grown to thinking he's more unbiased than he may actually be.

You're probably not wrong, but also I feel like that's not necessarily his fault. Fans of Andrew Tate are going to take his videos a certain way no matter what his actual intentions are.
