I'm not saying he's innocent, but if you want an answer to why his career lasted so long, it's because one dubious admission in a magazine article is not a legal confession.

Yeah, if he participated at 9 then he himself was being raped/sexually abused. Even witnessing at that age is (sexually) abusive towards a child.

It doesn't mean his attitude about the girls 'wanting to be raped' or 'there is no such thing as rape' is not wildly fucked and wrong but if he did got through that at such a young age, then it's no wonder his concept of consent basically doesn't exist.

Don't know if you remember the 90s, but men didn't lose their jobs back then because they were accused of rape, let alone because they said something weird in a magazine article and then retracted it.

Hell when even was metoo, 2017? His career lasted so long because hollywood has always protected rapists.
