When I get carded at a store buying alcohol that information doesn't get saved it's a cashier looking at a number and allowing the purchase to happen.

If you could make that a possibility via websites maybe you'd have an argument.

I did no such thing. I asked if you felt data breech is a valid concern and you cowardly avoided answering instead throwing out accusations.

If your looking to discuss than why not clarify and actually tell me your stance on it. Or as I suspect you have none and are just shit posting.

You need ID to buy alcohol. You need ID to buy tobacco products. You need ID to buy porn in real life. I dont get why needing ID to view porn online is a bad thing.
While your data can be stolen in real life its far more likely to happen on the internet.

In a topic about a Supreme Court ruling, I pointed out that no one is discussing the actual ruling or the grounds that the laws were contested on.
What's to discuss?
The Supreme Court offered no explanation for its decision Tuesday, common for decisions on its emergency docket. There were no noted dissents.

Hopefully, it's because it's not an emergency. Not because our right to privacy and our right to be protected from illegal search is dead.

Which is why I have always said this porn thing (and anything LGBT related) was never about the kids. Kids are just a scapegoat to these people, nothing more. The real deal is, they don't like porn, they want to get rid of porn, and this is their first step of doing it. I mean, does anyone really think they are gonna stop at "requiring ID" when it comes to porn?

It is yet Breechs still happen and all the time.

Why should it rather fall on the government to not enforce their laws on pornography being illegal to obtain and view for minors? The arguments against requiring age verification regularly boil down to I dont care if minors are watching porn, in which case Id rather just see people outright admit they think there shouldnt be age laws requiring porn viewing because otherwise it feels like people are just finding long winded ways of saying I dont want to be inconvenienced when Im trying to watch porn.
Because they have proven woefully bad at securing it. Because porn is a very private thing and can easily be used to blackmail or ruin someones reputation. Adults are capabel of child locking thier devices. We have more options for safe browsing than evr before. Yet people still claim think about the children.

I dont think simply saying what if theres a data breach is what most people are actually worried about and it wasnt even the legal argument being made in the case that this topic is about.
It is what I am arguing. Why demand age verification when it has a history of being easily breeched?

You constantly down play how damaging data breeching is. People lose money, time and identiy because of it. So I need a better reason to demand it than "a child might see boobies!"

it is not just an inconvenience, republicans want that data. Maybe they can get that data in other ways already, but probably it's easier this way. Whatever was said for and against it in court is just some theatre. The age limit is the secondary problem here, it is what comes with it.
