Played a bit with my friend, he was introducing me to the series and some of the game mechanics.
I am convinced. Too bad I don't have the money to buy it right now. That, and AE is getting the 2012 patch soon, and THEN Soulcalibur 5 is coming out next month, not to mention that no matter how solid it is, KOF13 will probably die within a year.
I wish I was rich.
Kula's design is like one off the coolest I've ever seen in a fighting game. King is just straight up boss.
I really wish I had the time and money to play this game.
It's pretty excellent all around. This is honestly the best fighting game in a long time on most fronts. The biggest weaknesses I see so far are the Online is merely SF4 (Not SSF4. Just SF4.) level. Except on Xbox you wont have enough people online for that to really work out for you. I hear the PS3 version definitely has more people. The other Weakness is pretty much the execution barriers on a lot of stuff is pretty high compared to every other new-age fighter. I think that will hurt it with casuals even more then being Not Capcom will hurt it. Pretty much everyone oldschool loves the game tho. At least that I've talked to. Guys who like CVS2 seem to adore this game.
Personal complaints with the game for me are like... Superflash restricting inputs is pretty weird for me. I don't think it's a bad thing but I miss super flash>Input your Super to beat it style moments. I wish Adel or Rugal made the cast and hearing Adel was the next character they were making is a downer that they didn't finish him. Terry Bogard I think is pretty bad in this game which also makes me sad. I think his Brother stole all of his powers or something because Terry is just kinda weak compared to everyone else in the cast.
Its the best fighting game I've played since this 2009 resurgence. It harkens back to that old school feeling SF4 tries, but it doesn't feel all mechanical like that game, or have big comeback mechanics or rely on silly 1/2 frame links. Trials are hard, but its very accessible, with a lot of different, viable styles. There's a netcode patch coming soon, so hopefully everything will be put in order.
And yeah, the success of this game sits entirely with the netcode. If it's great, it stands a chance. If it's subpar, the general public will drop it fast.
I'm gonna be able to play some KOFXIII in 15 days-ish. It'll be nice to get some competition with people online, I never really had anyone to play KOFXI with around here.

KoF Geese always manages to make the game less fun when he is picked. So he's not a flaw unless they gave him totally new normals. He can keep his special moves but I don't want to see him anywhere near KoF till his down C and j.C are gone.
They pretty much picked the best cast they could for the most part. I miss Blue Mary, Shingo and Yamazaki tho. I also wish Adelheid made the roster, but gameplay wise he doesn't really offer that much since he would do a lot of the same stuff that this version of Kyo does.
Geese Howard~Southtown's crime lord. Gameplay wise think Counters, Command grabs (Which are Zero frame and can be used as reversals like all KoF grapplers), Super high fireballs that are hard to jump over, with basically Guile's Normals, add in a multihit super that you input each hit and an invincible energy cage around him super. In short he's a boss character.
Whip-Long reach poke character who uses a Whip. Has an awesome ***** laugh on her delayed grab move. She has a lot of zoning and multihit fast close range moves. Normally is pretty low tier altho always fun.
Shingo- KoF's "Joke" character. He's a fanboy of Kyo and trys and mimics all of his moves. He's actually fairly tough and a unique character. He has Critical hits on some of his moves and they'll do cool moves. He's one of the more fun KoF characters to use actually.
Blue Mary-Terry Bogard's Girl Friend. I'd like of her like the SNK Cammy actually. There are a lot of similarities between the two.
Yamazaki-Fatal Fury 3 Sub boss. Has long range snake arms, command grab, and stomping attacks. He's super insane and playing him a lot like playing a turret. Very strong zoning and spacing with good reach.

EX Iori (Iori with Flames AKA Old Iori) came out 3 days ago. I will actually grab him today. EX Kyo comes out next month Mr. Karate comes out the month after.
I'm hoping they put more characters in too. I know Adel is started. Shrug. I'm just hoping they don't start getting ready for KoF14 and just save up stuff for that.

Aww. There goes my boy band team of Kensou, Shingo, and Chris. They were all color-coordinated and had similar hairstyles, but in this game it looks like Kensou has gone solo.
Supposedly it takes them 1 month per character for a new character. I bet they did Vice, Hwa Jai, EX Iori, EX Kyo, Mr. Karate and Clark in less time then all the others tho.
charge back, f+K is Spiral Arrow with a QCF follow up for extra damage. dp+K is basically the same uppercut but has a follow up for a a knockdown grapple+Extra damage (No bounce back tho) In some games she had Hooligan grab but in newer games they just made it a follow up to her flip kick. Her stand CD (or C) is the same animation as as Cammy's Spin fist.
That's pretty much it. She's her own character but Cammy is obviously what SNK was looking at with her.

Her jump arc is totally different then every other character. (Super low)
If they put her in KoF13 I'd see them removing her movelist down to just the Slide, DP, Counters, Leap kick, AA Super and maybe the Grab super.
She doesn't play like Cammy IMO But her movelist is a lot like Cammy in some regards.
