It seems like sticking your arm out towards the computer while trying to use it would become a big inconvenience after a while...
What practical use does this hold? I can't think of what I'd want to use this for, except maybe drawing, but even then, how would you do pressure or know when it's going to "draw" and when it's just hovering over the screen?

Honestly, this is a big attraction for me.
The thing I hate most about touch screens is the screen getting smudged from all the oil on my fingers.

I'd like it for drawing, but I need to feel the pressure/surface area. The tablet screens are best, but unfortunately expensive as I'm sure this would be.

I don't. At least, no more than tablets are replacing it right now. As cool as it seems, and as precise as it may be able to get, I couldn't ever air-write in that manner nearly as effectively as I can write with a stylus on an actual surface area, let alone as effectively as I can type using a keyboard, and especially if we're talking writing on an upright screen, ala writing on a white board. Not to mention the fact that that will never replace a mouse and a keyboard for gaming, at very least.

I was very disappointed, but then there was touchless Fruit Ninja and I became very happy.

Yeah, this is basically Kinect. At least in the sense that it's not ever going to be better than a traditional controller after the novelty wears off.
