well yeah. obviously a big business is going to keep pushing the boundaries and seeing what their consumer is stupid enough to pay for.

it started with horse armor. nowadays, a million idiots willingly pay full price for half a game, then get home and pay full price again to get the other half and they call it "DLC" and they think it's totally justified. but wait! you also need the day one edition for this one costume that's already on the disc, oh, and you need to preorder to get this bonus item and what about the legendary edition that includes an extra character that has a pretty substantial role in the lore and story?

gamers are suckers. they're like drug addicts. they don't care what's going on around them as long as they get their fix. why not take advantage? no, if you really want to support mod authors or people who create content for you, giving a chunk to the big business is not a good idea. contribute to them directly, there are so many ways nowadays there just isn't any excuse.
