Yes I'm casual. lol @ peeps who take it super competitively

Brawl had a great cast, great soundtrack great stages, single player was fun imo >__>. Melee did too, but with a more inferior cast.


Smash 4 is devoid of the charm the 2 previous games had. No good singleplayer, Target test is gone, restarting All-star mode when you die with a roster of 50 characters is literal bullshit, and the stages feel bland as hell.

And smash 1 is just janky >_>

Smash 4 did have a lot of good single player modes. The reason for it being the way it is is people complained about Brawl's single player, even though there was nothing really wrong with it. It could've been shorter, maybe. Also Smash Run in the 3DS version is like one of the most fun things ever, even better if you have people you can play it with

Melee in comparison is pretty devoid of content and the gameplay is slow without knowing all the exploits and unintuitive canceling. The cast is way too minimal, and the sucky lower tier characters simply run into a wall really quickly. Smash 4 doesn't have this problem, since D tiers can beat S-A tiers if the players play smart enough.

Smash Run seems like it's okay if you don't play it alone. And it doesn't help that it's on the inferior version of the game.

I think in terms of content, Melee and Brawl are pretty much equal. Smash 4 wins when it comes to characters, but obviously its lacking in other areas. And Smash 64 was really fun. Just a different experience than the sequels were really.

If I had to rank them from most enjoyable to least enjoyable, it would probably be Melee > Brawl > 64 > Smash 4

melee has the best single player content as well as the best mechanics in the series by far

melee>smash 4>64>brawl

brawl basically has nothing going for it outside of its roster and music. it's a total shitshow mechanically, the only redeemable thing about subspace is the cutscenes, and the in-game art is actually really ugly

smash 4 is what brawl should have been
