For me, it should have a faint vodka smell.

Initial taste should be very intense crispy with some sweetness.

And the after taste should be gone quick, no lingering flavors, only the feel of strong alcohol in the mouth.

Having Russian Standard Platinum atm and it's tasty as fuck.

im pretty sure that "good vodka" is just regular vodka ran through a filter a few times. buying 'premium vodka' is a scam.

There are things that matter, like what water is used, grains etc and yeah of course filtering.

I can drink gin or bourbon straight all night, but if I don't have a chaser on hand for vodka, I'll get the urge to puke immediately.

Prob drinking bad vodka. It should not have any after taste, it's what can cause nausea. Konskenkorva the Finnish vodka is really bad with that, it's so sweet and it has a long lingering taste.

Not a fan of "neat" liquor.

My preference is sake or beer every time.

If neither of those are available, I will go with something like a vodka redbull

If I'm having vodka, I'm doing it with Gatorade, club soda, or water. Also a major fan of the Chilton and Seabreeze

I tried a few higher tier vodkas and found barely any difference from the mid-tier ones, I'm tempted to say that it's not worth it and that marketing fools people into buying expensive vodkas.
