Yeah, a normal ass bow. I was watching a playthrough and the archer in the first level has attack range of 1-3 and even the tutoral commander says archers can counterattack at close range

This is huge.

That's my chief complaint with archers. They just eat melee hits because of no countering, which is specifically why I almost never use them in any game and opt for mages and/or javelin/hand axe instead. But this AND 1-3 feels like a bit much. We'll see how it plays out.

They also have accuracy issues now. Which balances them out. Mages use HP to cast their spells, but ignore terrain advantages, which is major in this game.

From what I hear they really changed up the game compared to the newer titles. Personally I'm excited as I love FE but mixing things up once in awhile can be nice, makes the games stand out from each other a bit better. And I loved the game play of Fates but thought the story was easily the worst in the series, as long as Echoes outdoes that I'm happy.

Shadow Dragon had some odd design choices but I'd rather play it that way than some neutered version.

Mystery of the Emblem was beast though. SD's main problem wasn't just not fixing the bad stuff but actively having worse game mechanics

aside from Graves, that all seems fairly ordinary

there was terrain in Genealogy that gave 40 avoid
