- There's no clergy at all, and not much of a hierarchy

- Most of the people in the religion, i.e. about 90%, aren't allowed to read the holy books, and find out what exactly the religion is about and what is expected of them

I hadn't heard of this religion until today, when I discovered an article about it on Wikipedia. It has about 800,000 adherents, and is mostly in the Levant.

By the sound of it there could be a lot more than 800,000, but the religion doesn't allow people to know whether or not they're members.
