I'd say about 60 a month. That's 2 hours a day, which is some pretty good gaming. Anything less, over a long period of time, is probably a casual gamer.

I'd say 20 hours a week is pretty hardcore, assuming the gamer has a full time job. 30 hours a week for the part timers, 50 for NEETs.

I used to play games from morning to night on somedays... not anymore. I refuse to do that and I was depressed during that time.

Hc gamer is just someone for whom gaming is a hobby and is willing to invest in gaming pc or consoles and accessories. These people really need gaming.

Then there are the casual gamers who plays free to play mobile cancer games, or consoles with one of their friends, and might buy few games and console if he can get those really cheap. These people could live without gaming or at least would get over it if video games disappeared from earth.

People who only play one genre, like plays only fps games, or sports games belong to more casual gamer category than hc gamer category.

Dunno what I would be considered because my video gaming hours are all over the place. Sometimes I barely play and other times I'll spend most of my free time on an engrossing game or spend lots of time playing Civ 5 with friends.
