I know it's silly to nitpick at the premise of a cartoon, but the entire concept behind the Cars franchise makes no sense, not even internally. First of all, what's up with cars riding inside of other cars? Second, why are there a bunch of human tools lying around the world that the cars can't make use of due to a lack of fine motor skills? Third, where did the cars come from? How do they reproduce? Are they biological entities?

This isn't like Toy Story where the only premise you have to accept is that the toys are sentient. In Cars you need to accept that the cars are sentient, AND that the Cars world is just like the actual world, except instead of humans, there are cars -- except that doesn't make any sense because cars can't do practically anything that people can do, not even if you stretch your imagination. Seriously, how did the Cars build a printing press? They don't even have thumbs.

I've had similar thoughts about Cars ever since the original came out
