So...my current PC still runs a 32 bit Windows 7. I'm looking into upgrading it to a 64 bit Windows. But! When the OS was installed, there was no partitioning -- so everything is in C://

If I want to install the new OS and keep most of my files (and programs), do I have a choice other than backup the files to an external HD or cloud, before reinstalling the OS then reinstalling the programs and moving the files back?

Thanks beforehand, the tech wiz of B8.

Windows should give you the option to keep everything when you go through the install process iirc. No need to worry about partitioning if you only have one OS.

However, keeping everything backed up is the very definition of good practice, and you should do it anyways.

Alright, so it doesn't matter that I only have one Drive, yeah?

And that's neat about the Windows thing, didn't know that, thanks!

I guess Windows 10 is the recommended version?
