The driving episode in Dragon Ball Z was fantastic and I probably love Cowboy Bebop because like 20 of the 26 episodes are filler and have nothing to do with the plot lol

i don't get why people hate filler with such a passion >_> It can be fun to take a break and get caught up in some goofy hijinx

There's a difference between filler and "literally nothing happened at all".

We were thinking of naming the baby Ellipsis, but it seemed so...typographical.

I like skipping filler arcs in anime that are only meant to allow the manga to get farther ahead

Another had a light-hearted beach episode and then shit got deadly again at the end.

Some filler is well done but shows like DBZ have diller scenes and padding that contribute nothing AND are completely uninteresting so I hate that. And then there is stuff like Naruto with tons upon tons of flashbacls and talking for padding which just sucks. And then they have entire arcs that contribute nothing because they're instantly forgotten about afterwards and I can totally understand why people hate it.

Episodes where the main plot doesn't move forward aren't bad unless they're just ignored or they're badly written (which a lot of filler is).

This.

Also occasional filler is fine.

The problem is with shit like Naruto that has 80 fillers in a row or shoves MULTIPLE filler arcs at random spots in the final battle.

At one point we 2-20 episodes of filler every 5 canon episodes. During the final battles of the war arc. AFTER THE MANGA HAD ALREADY CONCLUDED giving them no damn excuse.

Oh and random filler plots like the virtual world that got shoved IN THE MIDDLE of the Battle City arc in Yugi-Oh which is just... what

It can be fun, it often times isn't. Some shows do filler better than others. It is fun to have a short detour to show the characters goofing around, but when your show is literally 44% filler like Naruto Shippuden, you have a problem.

move all remaining groundhog mercenaries to the front lines. Have sheep troopers squadrons A and B flank the cows. They're using DC-17 hoof blasters.

Or poorly placed and paced. Like when the killer's identity is about to be revealed and suddenly the hero has a 3 episode flashback about making a sandwich.

What, you mean you weren't a fan of watching Bulma sulk around on Namek for 20 minutes an episode??
