I know it's a popular franchise, including here on CE, so I was wondering what CE thought of the different games. For me, I'm not the biggest fan of the franchise, but it's kinda fun. The only ones I've played are Paper Mario, which I thought was pretty boring (although I'm not much of a fan of RPGs), and Super Paper Mario, which I quite enjoyed, being more actiony than the first game, but eventually gave up about halfway through, with too much RPGing and not enough platforming. I've bought a copy of Paper Mario: Colour Splash, which I've heard if even more actiony (a good thing), and I'm looking forward to it playing it. You know, I don't think I've ever played for more than about 10 or 12 hours on any Paper Mario.

I didn't skip it, I just didn't play all the way through it. I kept getting stuck with certain puzzles, or having do certain things, and gave up. I had plenty of other great games to play at the time, like SMG1, and NiGHTS 2.

Paper Mario and TTYD are fantastic. Super is ok and the two recent ones are abominations.

I really like the M&L games but am finding myself enjoying Paper Jam less than Dream Team. The enemies feel really HP spongey and it makes random battles feel like they take forever.

Too bad, Super Paper Mario is a great game. Recently played that game again and did the postgame content in like, Chapter 6 I think it opens everything? Did it and was super op to kill everything, including some of the chapter's bosses, in one hit.

It was pretty cool. That said, Paper Mario 64 and Thousand Year Door are just so incredible, I might re-play them yet again.

I have not played Sticker Star nor Color Splash, and while I sure don't want to, I don't think they're this "Super terrible game" everyone thinks it is. It's not really Paper Mario, but I don't think it is THAT bad.

The only thing they have going for them is Color Splash's art style looks fantastic. Otherwise they pretty much remove everything that made Paper Mario so damn good.

Well I mean, Color Splash has humor and charm that really reminds me of the first two games.

the first two games are very average rpgs that are way too repetitive and mindlessly easy to be considered exceptional
super paper mario is just an incredibly boring game with simplistic platforming, uninteresting "puzzles", and bad characters and plot
