Gambled all my shit on a great cave. Found lots of iron and gold and a saddle in the cave. Ran into a witch. No iron left to make new weapons and armor :/ depressed

You should have came back up to the surface once your weapons broke.
Also, always bring wood with you into a cave. That way, you can at least craft stone weapons should your stronger ones break. --- (Insert situational remark here) ... Copied to Clipboard!
