I like how much love they're giving Gohan!

But the highlight of this episode was the preview, SSG Goku and Hit teaming up against rabbit/cat dude and another fighter from universe 11.

eh. gohan is still so weak and boring. 17's fight in the previous episode was much better. until they give him a new form, i dont really care for him

Yeah. I hope they make Gohan come through on his earlier words about becoming more powerful his own way with some kind of transformation.

Gohan's gimmick seems to be fighting smart now, not raw power or ki control like vegy/goku.
Some really nice looking fights this ep. It's so up and down >_>, one ep will look like complete garbage with lots of reused "good" animations, the next looks awesome and varied (animation wise). Then back to another budget cut ep. Rinse and repeat.

I don't get why they made gohan the "smart fighter"

He's never fought smart. He's fought with his heart. When he's backed into a corner he unleashes all of his power until his foe can't move. Piccolo was the strategist. He has strategic abilities like regeneration, stretchy arms, and the hellzone grenade.

Not that I like Gohan being shafted in the power department (having the highest strength ceiling was plot relevant multiple times), it makes sense.

He's a nerd. He's only ever fought in major conflicts because he had to, and wasn't interested in training except when he knew there was a major fight coming. So it makes some sense he'd be more interested in strategy.

He is also good friends with Piccolo and received his original training from him, so he could have easily picked up that interest.

I'm not following Super, but I imagine that it'll probably eventually rehash the "Give Gohan a magic deus ex machina to level him up to max potential" plot point if they want him to really shine. And then swiftly become irrelevant because he gets cocky and gets knocked out of commission.

But he was always a scholar and that never changed his fighting style.

Gohan would always be the one to do major damage, then back out and recover. He's a glass cannon.

And the androids shouldn't have gotten the power scaling they did. They have no ki and infinite stamina, that's their biggest advantages. Going toe-to-toe with Blue is just dumb.

Krillen was actually done very well. He does best in a group, doing well to support his fighting partner and being opportunistic in his attacks.
