Mario Kart Call of Duty Earthbound/Mother Pokemon Mortal Kombat Anyone wanna add to the pile? Disclaimer for triggered fanboys: any of the franchises I mentioned or do mention do not mean I "hate" or "despise" the certain series (such as Mario Kart and a few others). I love big open world games like that and can't get into an old school turn based JRPG to save my life. I'll explain why I like the stuff you dislike. I really enjoy open world games because I enjoy the illusion of finding my own fun in the game. The quests can be good and involving, but the setting is usually what pulls me in. I can still see in my mind so much of the nooks and crannies of Cyrodiil from Oblivion. I love getting immersed in the world of Red Dead's Old West, tracking down bandits and hunting down bears in the forests and creeks of the Rockies. When I play JRPGs, I can never disconnect from the idea that I am a person pressing buttons on a controller to select options from a menu.
