I don't watch boxing but the fact that this guy who never boxed pro before just went 10 rounds with someone who was 49-0 is damn impressive

Floyd knew from Round 1 that he was going to win and he knew exactly how to do it - Let the idiot gas himself up and then gas himself out. Floyd may be a dumbass in every other aspect of life but he knows boxing, it's why he's 50-0. So this was about expected, Mayweather isn't a "I KO YOU" boxer, so anyone expecting him to just outright drop McGregor should have known better, but anyone who knows anything about anything should have also known that McGregor really stood no chance.

This is my point. He even won at least the first 3-4. If he had another year or two, he could probably be a decent boxer.

He did good for his first real match though.

he's 50-0 because he gets Unanimous Decisions. He has only won 4 matches(including this one) by Knock Out. I'm not taking away that he is a great boxer, but lets not claim him to be on the same level as Mike Tyson or Evander Holyfield.

McGregor was done after the 4th round. Even Mayweather admitted his plan was to tire him out and go on the offensive. Fighting according to your opponents prediction isn't exactly commendable.

McGregor did well. Very well. Anyone who is coming up with a reason or defending Mayweather for clearly losing 3 rounds, is compensating for something. Idk why.

Conor did very well. Yeah he's not a "scientific boxer" but scientific boxing is fucking boring. Conor lost because Mayweather is great adapting to opponents and because Conor can barely go 8 minutes in an MMA fight. He has a shit gas tank. So no matter how skilled he is or isn't he can never have real success in boxing.

Boxing isn't about winning as many rounds as possible right form the start. The strategy was set from the start: tire out connor and then win when he can barely stand. It's why floyd had a more orthodox defense instead of his usual guard and focus on counter punching.

Conor did win 2 rounds because that was mayweather's plan. You're delusional if you think he would have won those first 3 if the fight was only 3 rounds long, for example. They're fighting 12 rounds, the strategy is set accordingly.

I think it's more just trying to defend Floyd's shitty performance for the fist half of the fight. Seriously, a dude with a claim to be the goat of the sport got caught multiple times by a guy who was 0-0. I mean, yeah, Connor deserves some credit for not being complete shit, but Floyd was pretty rusty.

Floyd always lays back for the first 3 rounds to get a read on his opponent. That was expected.

didn't seem Rusty at all...He was in control. He dictated the speed of the fight and Conor played into it...then when he saw his opportunity he turned up the offense and took his shots. McGregor did a bad job at defending himself and it worsened as the fight went on..

Nope. He was awful. Getting tagged multiple times by an amateur. People who say act like Connor getting gassed is part of some 5d chess by mayweather have never watched him fight before. The guy is gassed after 3 rounds in the UFC, he just has shit stamina.

I can understand Connor losing after round 7 and above, but they were pretty much on even playing field. Mayweather gets way too high of points prior to this, even though he acted like a chicken the previous rounds. Turning, bending down, pretty much the first few rounds he was trying to provoke McGregor into disqualifying himself, only to find out that he wasn't going to go out that way, hence why he stepped up his game in round 7.

I'd say after round 6, it was pretty much over for Conor. Dude was showing how gassed he was, and I called it over by round 8. The fact that he lasted an extra 2 rounds after that was surprising.

Regardless of that, that is how Floyd fights. He watches his opponents and draws them in. He was getting hit repeatedly in the back of the head by Conor (how he didn't get a point reduction after the countless warnings, I don't know), and tried to lure Conor into doing it again.
