it's still pretty great.

The third act is kind of strange, because he's sleeping/passing out for the whole part of it. I didn't remember him passing out so much.

I still think it's better than Wonder Woman. If Wonder Woman get nomiated for best picture and this doesn't, it show how farce the academy awards are.

I liked it, but I was confused on a lot of the backstory because the last X-Men movie I saw was the third one.

I agree it was better than Wonder Woman, which I felt was pretty overrated.

I would be very surprised if either got nominated for best picture though.

I loved the movie, and as an added bonus I find its portrayal of North Dakota rather amusing ;)
They moved the Badlands way up north and gave us such nice big trees. I want to live in their version of the state.

I didn't much care for it. One major thing I thought was annoying was that they saw Deadpool's success and went, "Oh! Gore and profanity is popular in superhero movies!" Then they just needlessly added as much gore and profanity as they could stick into the movie as they possibly could.

^i wouldn't go that far. it felt more like real life and real world situation.

@keyblader1985

The movie is a solo movie. it's more a "what if" story. The backstory isn't found in other movies. it was all inside the movie. Like Charles killing all the kids in the school. it was talked about on the radio for a second, because logan turned it off because charles didn't remember what he did and logan was trying to hide it from him. (on his right before he is murdered, charles remember everything thing.)

also they talk about Wolverine is being posined by his metal skeleton and that's what is killing him.

and they talk about there are no more mutants, because they made a formlua that stops the x gene and people are drinking and eating it without knowing, because the big coropration want to limit and control who gets super powers and make a patent on super powers.

It's all there but it's easy to miss.

The gore was supposed to be offputting, man. Wolverine has been around for like half a century and you rarely saw how grisly his claws and style of fighting (get hit and regenerate) really would be. Logan was all about tearing away some of the comic book wholesome veneer and adding real life issues to the characters.

Disagree...while Deadpool's stuff was more over-the-top slapstick (like Kick-Ass), Logan's stuff was more grounded in reality.

I mean, if a guy (or female) actually attacks you with unbreakable sharp metal claws, what would you expect to happen?

I didn't mind the fact that it was gory and I certainly didn't mind the profanity. I just thought they went over the top with the gore. There were plenty of spots where they just didn't need to show that much gore but they did so anyways just for the sake of it. Like at the end where that one guy got shot in the head, and his head literally exploded into a pile of ground meat. What was the point of that? That doesn't happen ever.

you're right they aren't like that. But they want to show you that he won't be regenerating. also we think exit wounds make your head explode. and maybe it does with that type of gun and caliber.

Most people are already aware that it's a farce.

I didn't like the second half of the story, and definitely didn't like the ending. I like happy endings, and there was nothing happy about this film.

I would go as far to say Logan was my favorite movie of the entire year. For the first time in ages I actually wanted to go out and buy the dvd instead of, you know, patchy-ing it.

To me, it's what made the movie feel real, instead of feeling "cartoony" where people always speak reasonably politely no matter the situation and there is no blood regardless of how violent people are being attacked.

I was mainly just wondering who some characters were like that guy who was hurt by sunlight, and whether this was canon to the rest of the movies. I wasn't sure if that catastrophe that Xavier caused happened during one of the movies I didn't see or what.
