My favourite singer is Lenka. I used to check her Twitter feed all the time, mostly to see when he next album is coming out. Sufficed to say, for whatever reason I stopped checking it regularly by maybe Feb or March of this year, when she was talking vaguely of her fifth album, which was apparently in the very early stages. For the previous album, I had checked about it a lot, and was awaiting it with baited breath. Anyway, I was on her Wiki today, for no particular reason, and in her discography a fifth album was named, which made me think it was out in a month or two, but then I went on her Twitter feed, and it was released yesterday. Fuck me. I know I only heard it maybe a day later than a few people, but the fact that she's meant to be my favourite singer, and I only found it about her latest album a day after it came out...what does this say about me? I hate the idea of being this out of touch, and this wasn't even a singer I really liked, it was my favourite singer. It actually scares me when this occasionally happens (although the last time was about 2 years ago, so I guess I shouldn't be too worried). Part of the problem with this happening is you don't get to enjoy the build up to the release, and get all excited with anticipation.

How does CE feel about what happened? Is this really bad of me, or does it not really matter? What do you think about this? How did this happen to me?

This is surprisingly encouraging, coming from you Godnorgosh. Despite being part of the Old Guard, you've been trolling me a bit recently. Still, what you said was fairly encouraging.

This has happened to me 3 times in about 5 or 6 years. I shouldn't feel bad about that, but even 3 times is pretty bad, I think.

2017 - discovered Attune by Lenka was out, a day after it came out

2015 - discovered Purity by Jonathan Franzen was out, the day it came out

2012 - discovered The Newsroom by Aaron Sorkin had started, a few months after it started

Bare in mind that Lenka is my favourite singer, Franzen is one of my favourite writers, and Sorkin is my favourite Hollywood writer and showrunner. I don't understand how this happens. TBH, with Sorkin, I used to check his Wiki every few months, then suddenly it updated with the information after The Newsroom began. I guess I hadn't checked much for a while with Lenka and Franzen.

I think you should invest that kind of energy into those around you, as opposed to haranguing yourself for not keeping up with the Kardashians. A healthy response to finding out a product you enjoy is out is to be happy it's out, not go flay yourself over not having traced it's development cycle back to the mesozoic.
