I always had a habit of biting my nails. So I guess I bit weirdly on my right index finger and got some bacteria in there.

Noticed a weird burning sensation in my fingertip for a few days, then the area around the nail became inflamed.

I figured it was a hangnail, so I just washed my hands and ignored it.

A day later the entire upper third of my finger was swollen and throbbing. Later noticed parts turning black, then eventually pale white/yellow fluid began to replace the black. The area above my nail swelled up with this pus.

Finally went to a walk in clinic, the doctor took a look, told me it was cellulitis. Gave my antibiotics. Told me I'd need an IV drip if it got any worse.

Eventually the entire pus areas turned dark red and started to harden. Then everything scabbed over and chipped off randomly.

Finger is still kinda red, and very sensitive. A helpful CEtizen said it's because there's still some infection/dead material and the body is still mopping up even a month later.

Anyway that's me, what about you CE?

When my dog and cat were still getting used to each other they were fighting in the middle of the night and I woke up and stomped over there to break it up and must have scared my cat because it ended up biting the s*** out of my leg.

I was tired and crabby even though I was bleeding a lot and just put some peroxide on it quick and went to bed and after a day or two the redness started shooting out in all directions like a spider web and I had to go to the ER in the middle of night to get diagnosed with cat scratch fever

Dude developed a septicemia from the mosquito bite, and that type of thing can be traced since it follows a vein. If that thing got to his heart he probably would've died. Guy was an idiot for waiting so long.

Ingrown toenails on both big toes. Had to have surgery on it multiple times. They'd become big, disgusting puss filled messes. If I so much as slightly bumped it the pain would be excruciating. Luckily I haven't had to deal with them in over 10 years now.

Think they were caused because of soccer and martial arts. I never quite used the side of my foot to kick the ball, more so the front of it.

I had poison ivy and impetigo completely covering my face, oozing, crusty, yellow shit. Everything was swollen where both my eyes were shut completely from it and the only way I could see at all was to pry them open with my fingers. I looked like the elephant man or something and it was really bad.
The single worst experience of my life and I've almost died multiple times.

Had my intestines crushed/severed in a car accident. The hospital doctors never examined me, and just sent me home. I kept getting worse and worse, and even after repeated trips to different hospitals, I was left untreated. About a week afterwards, I was doing extremely poorly, and was taken back to the hospital again. At this point they decided there was likely a problem, and did exploratory surgery. Turns out I had gangrene and my guts were rotting inside of me. They did surgery and removed the dead tissue. I barely survived.

Also, that was when my dad refused to sign the consent form for the surgery to save me, and told the doctors to let me die. After I woke up, I learned I really was worthless to him. Yay...

Tonsillitis was definitely the grossest. Tonsil stones are fucking disgusting.

When I was 8 I punched a hole in my calf with a rusty bike pedal when I crashed the bike. Like, there was a gaping hole in my leg, shredded muscle dangling and blood was everywhere etc. etc. Got like 8 stitches inside my leg and 12 on the outside I think. But I didn't rest as long as the docs told me to when it was healing, so it kinda ripped open a bit and now it's a big messy scar.
