It creaks like crazy now. I used to have a leftover motor oil that i scraped from its container to lube it up. It seems to have dried now.

I am too lazy to get real machine oil, so can i just use cooking oil?

Too lazy.

I mean, a minimart selling foodstuffs is 150 meters away from my house, while a toolstore is 15 minutes by car

WD40 is a water displacement formula, not a lubricant.

What TC needs is some renwax and some Hex Boron Nitride.

I think you can use WD 40 Multi Use as a type of lightweight lubricant.

Correct

Works great

No. Cooking oil gets rancid and smelly eventually, and usually stringy.
If you really want to use something organic, disassemble the squeaky bits and rub them down with a bar of soap or an old candle.

Yeah, but it was only temporary as he said. The Renwax will seal the bolt so it shouldn't rust any further and the HBN is a dry lube that's basically microscopic ball bearings.

Yeah I did mine last year and they're still fine, but I'd still recommend WD-40

WD-40 is the perfect/cheap solution for this. You can pick up a small can for a few bucks and it will last years.
