I heard 1, 2, and 3 are the good ones and the rest are trash? >_> Also, the HD Collection is awful garbage and I should play the PS2 versions.

Any advice?

1-3 are considered the best. 4 is good too, but has some hit and miss stuff going on in it and its tone tends to be different from the others. outside of that the others range from mediocre to decent. there really isnt a bad one to avoid, but nothing that id go out of my way to try. the HD collection is spotty. you can also try and get a hold of the pc versions of 2-4, with some modding they look quite nice.

This is it really. Everything else is not worth the time. 3 barely makes the cut as far as that goes, but 1 and 2 are strong.

I would even bother going HD. They benefit from a more low-fi presentation.

That's fair. It's a bummer they didn't do another mostly stand alone story like 2.

Shattered Memories is an enjoyable experience but go into it experiencing a cinematic rather than a horror game.

I played SH2 on my PS3 with the HD collection. It ran fine, and had the option for the original voices (which I used). Was the best horror game I've ever played, so unless the non HD version is just THAT much better somehow, I can safely recommend it. Had no glitches, little to no noticeable frame drops, etc.

It's an oddity. I really enjoyed it for what it was and found it made use of the Wii's controls well.

You won't get the same type of horror and tone as with the main Silent Hill series but you'll get a good psychological mystery that does tradgedy quite well. It makes for an interesting reimagining of the first Silent Hill.

It'll pick up on things that you do/don't do and adjust the appearance of characters/events as you play.

I think I remember reading that the HD versions were made widescreen by cropping the 4:3 frame, so consider that.
