I think that might be the case. I mean I go to San Diego at least once a year and I love the place. The food is great, they have a great craft beer scene, the people are mostly chill, and the beaches and the water are phenomenal. Legalized marijuana is intriguing as well if Im honest considering Ive never tried the stuff.

But I just dont know if I can stomach moving somewhere else that doesnt have a temperate climate. I know that for the most part San Diego has pleasant sunny weather almost year round, but Ive lived in this damn desert for so much of my life that I feel like sunny days just drive me mad. I actually feel so much better on cloudy or rainy days because the pressure changes and everything just seems pleasantly toned down.

In Missouri Id get to enjoy four actual seasons. I also really enjoy the architecture in St Louis, the brick homes are nice and I love the suburbs that have lines of trees than grow over the streets.

I dunno, maybe Im being an idiot. Just need some blogfaqs right now I suppose.

Missouri has some of the worst weather in the country, I promise you will fucking hate it. Disgustingly humid in the summer, and then one day fall hits without warning and its freezing

St Louis has good barbecue and a decent music scene.

Only real reason Id choose SD over SL is the weather, honestly.

Also, if you like baseball, the Cards are a decent team pretty much every year, and their stadium is nice. Downtown SL is nice overall. They have some good museums.

Not really a bad choice unless you're making 200k+ a year. The weather sucks in the summer but if you're from the desert the summer shouldn't bother you that much...the cost of living, traffic, personalities etc are much better in the Midwest.

California is one of those places that's very awesome to visit but a nightmare to live in.

I live in San Diego, and it's great here. It is pretty fucking expensive, but if you're making a decent living, it's doable. If you're interested in alternate climates and want to see snow, the mountains are just a drive away. A place where you can go skiing and surfing all in the same day.

St. Louis is a shithole, though. My cousin was living there for a while and had to leave. The crime rate you mentioned is real. He'd been held up on multiple occasions and regularly harassed for being white. One of my sister's friends grew up there as well and agreed that it's a pretty awful city.

Been there dozens of times for work, and stayed there. Crime rate isnt bad at all compared to some places Ive been. There are parts of St Louis you probably dont want to visit after nightfall, but no worse than most cities Ive visited.

I've driven through there on my way west. It's beautiful at night. But visiting someplace is a whole lot different than living there.

i've only met 3 people from ohio. had a friend from there, and her parents came down to visit. father seemed alright. mother assumed I was a drug dealer. and absolutely loved the friend of her daughters that actually had been a drug dealer. she also assumed we lived in a bad area just because there was a prison in our area. so good people maybe. not bright in some cases.
