Oprah is better than Hillary could ever hope to be. I don't think she'd win, but I think it would be fairly close. And, unlike Hillary, Oprah wouldn't need the votes from ~15 million illegal immigrants to make it a competitive race.

Nah, it would motivate the other base since all they do is vote on skin color (See: PA - specifically, Philadelphia). Wonder why PA went red? Not much of a mystery.

Oprah would slaughter trump if they were going against each other, it wouldn't even be close.

She can point at a book and say this is good, and it instantly becomes a best seller.

She also can tell people to vote and they will do so, especially after the last election where everyone assumed that trump had no chance.

All that said, I don't want celebrities as PotUS I want people with actual political backgrounds (Hillary being the exception, not a fan).

Bruh. Best Seller is like...a million copies. Need waaaaay more than a million votes to win.

She might be a decent opponent, but it won't be a landslide in her favor by any means.

That's a blessing and a curse. If she can maintain a sparkly image, she would probably win pretty easily. But if any dirt comes out on her she's done.

I would hope the DNC would be behind Sanders rather than Oprah. I don't want TV stars as our only options.

issue isn't the DNC there

it's black women

they were clinton's main base and powered her through the primaries. DNC endorsements suppressed turnout for sanders but a sanders v oprah run, done fairly, would be severely hampered by the fact that black women are never gonna vote for sanders over oprah

No, I understand, but it's bad for actual people. And for Democrats, too. You've got ~220 house races to win, and there aren't 220 Oprahs. You have to have something more than celebrity to sell people.

Trump can tweet at 3AM and it'll become global headlines.

Oprah doesn't have anywhere close to that brand power.

Of course he can...now. He's the fucking President. The world is practically obligated to at least read his tweets.

If you honestly don't believe Oprah would have that kind of "brand power" if she were the President or a legitimate presidential candidate then you've lost touch with reality.

Not true. Pennsylvania besides Philadelphia and Pittsburgh is very republican. Everything in between is like a southern state.

She would be competing against him, in his current state and brand power bruh

I'm talking about what it'd be like if she ran for POTUS.

It's a hell of a lot easier to keep a 2nd term than win a first presidential campaign.

Exactly. And I'm saying, factually, the African Americans did not come out to vote like they did with Obama.

And she would at the very least be comparable in brand power (and most likely stronger, given the broad scope of the affection most people tend to have for her already) if she were competing in a direct head-to-head campaign battle with Trump for the presidency. Bruh.

I'm pretty sure her immaculate image is integral to her success. If she ran in politics there's no doubt it would tarnish how people see her for the worse.
