i mean sure, there are skirmishes, little conflict between small countries, some civil wars in africa, etc but really the world has been relatively peaceful compared the rest of our bloody history. what is the cause? is nuclear weapons just so damn frightening that nobody really wants an all-out war? or people simply find other ways to get what they want without an open conflict (like on the positive side, economic growth by trade, open borders and all other opportunities etc to the more sinister side of multi-national corporate exploitation, from stuff like cocoa plantation, palm oil, gold, diamonds, etc? )

I mean, realistically yes. Much of the world was constantly fighting another in the past, and the western world has been relatively stable with another since ww2. Or at least not openly fighting another I guess.

Violent deaths are basically at all time lows since the early 2000s or so.

We aren't close to a world war, not even close. We aren't close to a global economic collapse either.

Climate change is the biggest threat that humanity is facing right now, but I am somewhat optimistic about it.

People bring this up all the time, but I don't think we have major powers willing to go at each other's throats like we did then.

I think part of it is the fact that we don't have many truly autocratic regimes any more. Like when you have emporers or monarchs leading many of the world's major powers it would be easier for something like this to happen than today where even leaders like Putin have a lot less control than the Tsar.

Define "stable"

I mean if by "Not stable" you mean "war" then the world was more stable before humans existed.

Assuming you mean the past 20,000 years then yeah pretty much. We're more advanced and peaceful than ever.

If you think the world right now is the most stable it has ever been then you gotta believe you're in for one hell of a surprise at the Earth Shattering absolute chaos that is going to go down on January 22 when The Longest Running Weekly Episodic Television Show in History celebrates its 25th anniversary at the Barclays Center and its original home, the Manhattan Center.

Roman Reigns defends the Intercontinental Championship against The Miz with not just gold on the line but the entire pride of both men once and for all.

Smackdown Superstars such as AJ Styles, Charlotte, The New Day and The Usos will be in action for the celebration.

Brock Lesnar responds to the Devil's Favorite Demon Kane and The Monster Among Men Braun Strowman in their upcoming Triple Threat Brawl at The Royal Rumble.

Several stars from Raw's history will be returning including Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, JBL, DX, Torrie Wilson and more.

It's going to be off the charts.

If you ever wondered what happens when a tornado meets a volcano you're going to find out next Monday and the world is never going to be the same.

anyone telling you climate change is going to be an easy battle is just bullshitting you.

you also have ocean plastic pollution, the 6th mass extinction of animals, mass water shortages. deforestation. ocean acidification to worry about.

overpopulation is a root issue. 16000 scientists recently signed a warning letter to humanity.

they do not think we will be fine.

Agree with most of it. Tho i am not so sure about overpopulation. It is really more of a logistics problem instead of actual sustainability. We produce more food than everyone need, but alot of them get wasted or concentrated in few places.

So are the nukes. Nobody is going to detonate them so casually. I think at least most world leaders at least realize enough that nothing really is gained by turning a part of the world into a wasteland.

I dunno, what could happen to makes most electronic fails globally? If amy events vig enough to do that, it would be catastrophic with or without electronics and waves technology.

Maybe a really bad discharge from the sun, and it has happened before during 1800s or early 1900s or something where telegram network goes haywire or something
