Shinobi in general was such a hard game, and going up against a boss that had all your abilities and was actually pretty competent at using them, all the while your sword was killing you? Not a fun time.

The first time I played ffx I got stuck at the sinspawn boss at the beach for weeks. It turned out I was moving my characters around the sphere grid but not actually leveling them up at all. Had to start the game over lmao

And when I was little I could not beat the jack-in-the-box boss from dk64

I never had to restart in that game but Seymour on Mt Gagazet got me stuck for a few days probably.

I couldn't beat the Bevelle Wyrm and I gave up on the game for some time. Then I lent it to my friend who got to the final boss and I went round to his house and took the game back so he didn't finish it before me.

First time I played OOT (my first experience with a 3D game) I got to Gohma, immediately died, decided that three dimensions is too many for me, and didn't touch the game for a solid year. Then I tried again and wrecked it.

Dark Man in Mega Man 5. Never made it past Proto Man's castle as a kid. Don't know if I even made it past the first stage.

Wasn't until 17 years later that I finally beat the game (not counting save state runs).
