They did give Jiren a bit of development in the last few episodes.

We know his backstory, his philosophy and his interactions with Vegeta and Toppo shed a little light on him as well.

Its not a lot but he isnt just a force of nature now.

No, his true wish is for his family and friends to be brought back. Which is stupid as hell but I'll take it over "I want to fight a strong opponent" but it's still stupid as hell in light of Jiren's prior behavior, these people meant so much to him he's been thinking of them long into adulthood,you'd think someone carrying that in their heart and being as strong as him would full tilt and not fuck around and eliminate as many people as possible instead he sat on his ass until the bell has nearly run and when he did have several opportunities to throw his opponents out of the ring, he just stood there or just put them on the ground. It makes no sense at all.

I'm more annoyed at the time aspect of the tournament. Each episode takes place over the course of a minute. If it was just pure fighting I could understand, since the fan theory that it's "slowed down so the viewer could enjoy it" would be viable, but all the talking? It's should've ended weeks ago with universe 7 being the winner due to having the most people left.

neither one of them uses KI
it was explained that years ago when they were new in a think some outside information from akira toriyama that neither of the andriods actually have any ki based attacks
but both have the potential to learn ki moves and if they bothered to learn they would both massively power up
