Google stopped hiring white and Asian candidates for jobs at YouTube in late 2017 in favour of candidates from other ethnicities, according to a new civil lawsuit filed by a former YouTube recruiter.
Arne Wilberg claimed in his suit that YouTube recruiters were instructed to hire "all diverse" candidates in late 2017, and that he was fired in November last year after complaining.
In one alleged incident, recruiters said they felt uncomfortable with the way black candidates were being discussed like "black slaves as slave traders on a ship."
According to the claim, Google deleted evidence of its diversity hiring processes from staffers' cloud accounts and inboxes.
Google told the Wall Street Journal it would defend the lawsuit and said it hired on merit and not appearances.

Google can fight this all they want but those emails are extremely damning. Of course I fully expect Google to settle and make this go away.

its so weird how people dont consider asians minorities and that they dont have the same issues that other non-whites think they have. so they lump asians and whites together and discriminate them for scholarships and are weary of picking asians over other minorities for ivy league school admissions.

Today, as in the past, diversity is essentially a fancy word for group quotas. It is one of a number of wholly subjective criteria such as leadership used to admit students to colleges and universities according to their group membership, rather than according to their individual qualifications.

The reason why is because Asians are over-represented in Ivy League schools. For every 1 Black or Mexican applicant, you'll probably have at least 25 Asian applicants. So if you want a diverse acceptance pool, you have to actively screen and to meet your quotas.

What's "reversed" there? Hiring whites and Asians because of their qualifications is meritocracy, hiring blacks and Hispanics because they're black or Hispanic is racial discrimination.
