seriously seems like an insufferable number of people still exist with this mentality well into adulthood. i just had a pretty lengthy conversation with a friend about this and wanted to get some input from ce. i think most of the people i know grew out of this silly elitism beyond their teenage years, but some still seem to be stuck with this mentality for the express purpose of inflating their ego, never really growing out of it.

examples would be people that bury their head in the sand with bands/musicians once they gain deserved notoriety, claiming disdain for anything after their first release (out of spite, rather than objective judgement) or even act snobbishly about trivial things like playing minecraft in the early days and refusing to touch the game ever again.

so when did you grow out of your need to be a special snowflake? or do you know anyone that still uses stuff like this to mend their ego?
