If they don't, I don't see how MS and Sony can possibly keep up with and beat Nintendo. I mean...they're already just over a year behind. I'm surprised at this. I guess the .5 consoles were considered important enough to wait to release their own 9th gen consoles.

Here's my prediction:

PS5 is announced in December of this year. It's detailed in E3 2019 to release Fall 2019 or early 2020.

Xbox will never release another console.

I feel like we've already reached the potential of the PS4 already. PS4 wasn't that much of an upgrade to the PS3 really.

My prediction:

PS5 is gonna be a mess because Sony is cocky again. They'll push for integral VR set up, extremely high price point, possibly even digital only or always online DRM that everyone threw a shit fit about 5 years ago.

Microsoft will stick with Xbox One for a little while longer, probably come up with some decent first party exclusives and maybe even some third party exclusives because major devs still won't want to jump on the VR bandwagon yet.
