Nintendo is bold enough to release their older games as ports while people cling to hopes of a Virtual Console to buy the same few games all over again on the Switch

Sony has their embarrassing excuse of a service in PlayStation Now

And meanwhile Xbox One just casually lets you pop in a 360 or even original Xbox game and install it and play it for absolutely nothing extra than the hardware itself

They got a lot of the major games fairly quick too

Can't wait to see what their announcement is for the original Xbox games coming soon, will keep my fingers crossed for Conker Live & Reloaded

Honestly, backwards compatibility, Game Pass, and EA Access are pretty massive steps that have gone underappreciated because "lol exclusives."

We live in the age of gamers who just want to bitch about everything wrong but have no interest in praising the innovation.

Are you surprised? Microsoft flew too close to the sun at the start of this generation and paid deeply for it. Now, it's only Sony and Nintendo when it comes to market shares and Microsoft is like that "Other" blip on the chart.

The improvements they add to some 360 games for the Xbox One X is extremely impressive and makes most of those paid remasters a total joke.

It's the closest a console has ever come to being a PC and that's great. If only licensing wasn't an issue going forward.

Assassin's Creed looks incredible in 4K, especially considering how no code was changed on the actual games

I was never really a Max Payne fan, and I've given up hope on MW2/MW3 being made BC instead of Activision remastering them and selling them again. Plus, I'd rather a remaster fix the problems MW2 had than have it remain the same busted-as-fuck game it was back then, but that's a discussion better saved for another time.

I've been playing recently and tbh aside from the toxic hackers it's still fairly okay

Also consider how many people will be pissed if they change ANYTHING in the remaster and so I see them keeping everything the same even though it's not okay :/

From what I understand, the Xbox Ones ability to emulate 360 games so well - despite having a completely different architecture - is nothing short of technological wizardry. I certainly appreciate the ability to play the majority of my 360 library on it.

Unfortunately, you're probably right. The same thing happened in the first MW remaster and nothing that was in the original games was changed or balanced, not even things like the M16 that really should have been. Thankfully MW1's problems were mostly tolerable. OMA tubes are pure degeneracy, and I'm going to stop myself here before I start ranting so hard that smoke comes out of my ears.

The only thing wrong with MW2 is killstreaks counting towards other streaks. Literally no good players use OMA tubes, it's all FAMAS/ACR/UMP

Microsoft could have kept quiet about backwards compatibility like Sony did and then charge for a streaming service.

Luckily for us their spokesperson said there wouldnt be backwards compatibility and it caused outrage and pressure to be put on them.

Excluding the lack of Xbox-only software, they have a much better consumer product than Sony does. Game Pass is objectively superior to its shitty-ass PS4 equivalent, for starters. The problem is they had a terrible launch and arrogantly defended decisions even my grandma would've known were going against the grain. It's like MS had forgotten Google or market research existed.
