it's on my consideration list. just because it's the 1st game in the series and i have 50$ this time.
but i need to see all my options, so it be on friday i do my purchases.

if i do go this sale. i'll most likely get a big ticket 20$. and a combination of 30$ on other games.
i'll revive the gaming this friday for real. it's the damn hitman game doing the damage.

I have Kiwami and it's okay so far. Once I actually got to freeroam the city I took so long going around doing side stuff and fighting Majima that it kinda burned me out <__< lol. Is 0 worth getting if I felt this way about Kiwami?

the pc path is locked behind a massive gate. requires a heavier investment in computer parts which far outweighs the cost of steam.

0 is largely considered better than Kiwami. Since Kiwami is a remake of the first game, it's kinda beholden to its story structure. Some of the gameplay elements are cleaner in Kiwami, but by and large, 0 is considered the better experience.

That said, there's still a ton of side stuff to do in 0, so if that burns you out... *shrugs*

What kind of things are there?

How alive is the world? Are there merchants you can buy from? How about vehicle use? I notice there isnt much gun play which admittedly turns me off--is it just fists or are there bladed and blunt weapons?

You can go to theaters and watch live action videos of sexy women lol

How alive is the world?

The world is *extremely* alive. The trade off is that the game area is a single district of Tokyo, and a single district of Osaka: a few city blocks, but they've used that relatively small area to its fullest extent.

Are there merchants you can buy from?

Yes. You can use shops in the area to purchase food, protective gear, weapons, parts for your slot car, gifts for hostesses.

How about vehicle use?

None. There is no driving in Yakuza games, certainly not like in GTA or other sandboxes.

I notice there isnt much gun play which admittedly turns me off--is it just fists or are there bladed and blunt weapons?

The main focus is on fists, but there are weapons that you can find and use. Blunt, bladed, and there are even some guns, but the mechanics for those are very simple. Also, two fighting styles in Yakuza 0 are focused around a particular weapon.

I noticed the sale this morning and scooped the game up. Been waiting for it to go on sale for a while. I think it's the lowest it's ever been digitally. Kiwami is on sale for $20 all the time.

I know TC already responded but I just wanted to add that Japan has incredibly strict gun laws so hardly anyone has guns. That's why you don't see guns much in the Yakuza series or even Sleeping Dogs and that one is a GTA clone.

There are enough guns that show up in the series that you start to question that.

Still, it's mostly for dramatic effect. Like, a bad guy will show up, he'll pull out a GUN? and suddenly everything is all serious.

Also, I'd like to throw this out there:

You can really just watch the first minute of that and understand what Yakuza is about. :)
